Henry Cecil hasn't quite managed to reach the heights attained with Light Shift last season, but the ever-popular Newmarket handler has some potentially useful youngsters for next term headed by Wingwalker.
This superbly-bred son of Dansili takes a step-up in grade today as he heads to Newmarket for the Group 3 Somerville Tattersalls Stakes but he's looked a tremendous prospect in his two races to date and it will be a surprise if he's beaten.

All th
e rage in the betting on his debut here, he ran green but still managed to beat subsequent winner Delegator comfortably. Defeat looked out of the question on his next start at Sandown and, though jockey Tom Queally gave everyone a fright with his waiting tactics, he knew exactly what he had underneath him and the combination eventually ran out a convincing winner over Rileyskeepingfaith.

Wingwalker takes a considerable leap in class today but he'll improve again and looks one of the best juveniles to be seen out so far this term.

Richard Hannon has been carrying all before him in sales races and won all three such events staged last weekend.

He will have his two participants in the Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, Appraisal and Ballyalla, primed to the minute but another trainer who has had a brilliant year, William Haggas, may spoil the Hannon party.

Diddums looked a nice type when scoring at Doncaster last month though he did have a little luck on his side. He appeared to find the extra furlong stretching his stamina when running fourth in a nursery here last time and should do better back over today's trip.

There's plenty of Yorkshire interest in the race and Kyllachy Star could prove best of them, but Diddums looks just the type to land this most lucrative prize for his in-form trainer.
