Rotherham United v Luton Town

League two

IF Rotherham United provided Mick Harford's frying pan, Luton Town have provided the fire.

The former England international lasted just 247 days as manager of the Millers and was sacked after a 17-game run without a win and with the
club on its way to administration.

Three years later, Harford is in charge of a Luton side that needs a miracle to avoid relegation from the Football League after being docked 30 points.

Speaking ahead of his first return to Rotherham, albeit to a different stadium since the Millers have moved away from Millmoor, Harford said: "At another time, things might have turned out differently for me. Sometimes you get on a bad run and you can't get out of it.

"They were difficult circumstances but I brought in two or three decent players and some turned out to be assets for the club who helped bring in money."

Luton have already pulled back 10 points after six games of the League Two campaign but are still 14 points adrift of safety.

The Millers and Bournemouth were docked 17 points this season – which means three clubs maybe locked in a mini-battle to avoid the drop. The Millers have picked up 11 points so far while Bournemouth have managed only three.

"It's a monumental task but my players can become legends by keeping Luton up," said Harford.
