Scotland are waiting anxiously to discover if they are set to lose a second world-class winger from their World Cup squad.
They lost Wigan's Mark Calderwood a week ago when he was called into England's train-on squad and now fear losing Michael Robertson to Australia following his hat-trick for Manly in Sunday's NRL Grand Final.
Robertson was not originally thought to
be in contention for the Kangaroos but, after scoring three tries in Manly's 40-0 win over Melbourne, he is thought to be vying with club-mate David Williams for a vacant wing position in coach Ricky Stuart's
24-man squad.
"I haven't given the Australian team any thought," said Robertson. "I don't think I'm even on the radar. It would be great (to wear the green and gold), but I don't think it's going to happen. I'm in the Scottish squad."
Melbourne forward Michael Crocker is also set to be a shock inclusion after selectors initially appeared set to overlook him after he signed to play for Hull in 2009.
The Australia side will have a radical look, with Mark Gasnier, Willie Mason, Ryan Hoffman and Greg Bird all unavailable.
Australia will name their squad today, with Scotland due to follow suit tomorrow.
Forward Steve Snitch has joined Wakefield Wildcats for a second time following his release by Huddersfield.
The 24-year-old prop or second row began his professional career at Belle Vue in 2002 before moving to the Giants in 2006 and returns on a two-year contract.
Snitch will help offset the loss of Duncan MacGillivray, who is retiring, and Jason Golden, who has signed for Harlequins.
Kyle Bibb, 20, has signed a two-year extension to his contract and will stay at Belle Vue until the end of the 2010 season.
