Oulton Raiders moved off the bottom of the National Conference Premier Division for the first time this season after a stunning 20-18 win at table-topping Leigh East.
It was certainly the result of the Raiders' season as Gavin Wood snatched the winning try just five minutes from the end of a gripping match. Loose forward Carlos Sanchez crossed for two tries as the Raiders led 10-8 at half-time.
Scrum-half Alan
White then scored a third Raiders try immediately after the restart and added a second goal, before Easts managed to haul themselves back into the lead.
But then Wood crossed and the Raiders had ended Leigh's seven-match winning streak and climbed one place off the bottom of the pile.
It was West Hull who dropped to bottom slot after a 14-0 defeat at York Acorn.
All the scoring came in the first 25 minutes with Acorn's hooker Andy Gargan leading Wests a merry dance.
Tries from Davey Burns, Leigh Rientoul and Kyle Palmer, plus Palmer's conversion was enough to see Acorn home and open a three-point gap above the relegation spots.
East Hull went down 18-10 at St Patricks, where tries from Lee Hall and Gary Weymes plus Mike Docherty's conversion proved insufficient on a day when the dreadful weather conditions hit the other Premier fixtures.
In Division One, Saddleworth remain three points clear after they held on for an 18-16 win over relegation-haunted West Bowling.
In the GMB Union Hull Premier Division, West Hull Lions now sit at the top after a crushing 32-4 victory over basement club Crown, leapfrogging Bransholme Dales, who were without a game.
The Lions' tries came at regular intervals with a brace for Matt Thompson, and others from Glynn Jones, Matt Johnson, Jamie Hawley and Liam Crooks.
Glenn Ellerby led the way with three goals, while man of the match Paul Kirby kicked another. Crown had just the one reply through Ashley Tidswell.
Myton 'A', under stand-in coach Shaun Patrick, moved off the bottom following a shock 26-22 victory over Hull Wyke.
Prop Scott Brocklebank ran the visitors ragged with a hat-trick. Karl Allen got his debut try and Adam Humphries kicked five goals. Wyke's tries came from Gareth Calcutt (2), Andy Wilkinson and Dhale Bartlett. Alec Hardie Jnr kicked three conversions.
Skirlaugh Bulls looked to be running away with the game against Dockers 'A', going 16 – 0 up in the first quarter with tries from Ben Peterson, Adam Renardson and Tom Saltmer, Ross Kemp converting two.
By 70 minutes, however, Dockers had taken the lead through efforts from Paul Damm, Paul Taylor and Stuart Lambert, with Andy Kay landing the goals.
The last 10 minutes proved to be a tense time after Chris Green's try was converted by Kemp. A further penalty for the Bulls looked to have secured the points until Dockers' Dave Fletcher crashed over the line with Kay landing the goal, to leave it all square at 24-24.
