Wigan full-back Richard Mathers has signed a contract extension at the engage Super League club.
Utility back Cameron Phelps and back-row forwards Harrison Hansen and Lee Mossop have also signed new deals.

Mathers joined Wigan from Gold Coast Tit

Although Mathers has not met that clause Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan and head coach Brian Noble decided to give him an extension for 2009 and an option in Wigan's favour for 2010.

Phelps has signed for 2009 with a further year in Wigan's favour, Mossop has committed for 2009 with a further year option for Wigan and Hansen has signed until the end of 2011.

Carmont's original two-year deal had an appearance clause for the second year which he reached this season.

Lenagan said: "We are pleased we have secured the futures of these five players all of whom are important members of the future Wigan squad."

Noble added: "I am pleased that the future of these five players has been secured providing important continuity within a developing Wigan squad - important for the individuals, for me and for the club as we plan ahead for 2009 and beyond."
