LEEDS Rhinos face an anxious wait tonight to learn the fate of Danny McGuire after the stand-off's involvement in Saturday's Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-final against St Helens was put in some doubt.
McGuire has been ordered to appear before the RFL disciplinary committee this evening charged with making a high tackle in the Super League champions' 37-24 victory over Catalans Dragons in Perpignan on Saturday night.

The Great Britain half-back was cited by the sport's video review panel for a grapple tackle around the head of Sebastien Raguin as the French centre scored a 25th-minute try.

McGuire has been in outstanding form in the last few months and his loss to suspension would be a major blow for Leeds as they bid to reach Wembley for the first time since 1999.

Hull Kingston Rovers maintained their policy of remaining silent yesterday as speculation over the future of Paul Cooke, their troubled stand-off, continued.

A player who had been the pivotal figure behind Rovers' Super League survival last season was dropped from the team beaten 44-18 by Hull – a record defeat in rugby league's biggest derby – on Sunday following a disciplinary breach earlier in the week and had told his team-mates the club were looking to sack him.
