The leading six teams are still separated by just two league points, but Hullensians were knocked off the top when they suffered an unexpected 30-14 defeat on their visit to Ripon.

West Park Leeds took over at the top with a 25-5 home win over West Leeds, while North Ribblesdale moved up to second place despite being pushed all the way for their 15-13 home win over ninth-placed Barnsley.

Centre Stuart McClure, winger Alistair Booth and No 8 John Fletcher scored for West Park, and Conor Armstrong kicked two penalties and two conversions.

Pocklington took full advantage of Goole's current weaknesses by scoring a 62-10 home victory, leaving their opponents still chasing their first win after 12 league matches.

Back-row Dan Wilson and winger Dan Pickard scored two tries each, while others came from scrum-half Mark Stringer, flanker Jack Holbrough and front-rows Dave Birch and Chris Morton. Nick Bennett kicked six conversions and a penalty.

Prop Steven Berry touched down and stand-off Steve Rockett kicked a penalty as Knottingley beat Doncaster Phoenix 8-0.
