SHEFFIELD United have had a £1.8m bid accepted for Watford winger Tommy Smith and have also agreed a deal to bring Bristol City winger Michael McIndoe to Bramall Lane.
Smith was the Championship's top midfielder during the 2008/09 season, with 17 league goals and nine assists, and was named Watford's player of the season for the second successive year. The Blades have already raided Vicarage Road this season for S
mith's former team-mate Lee Williamson.

Kevin Blackwell has also agreed a fee with Bristol City for former Barnsley and Doncaster wide man McIndoe.

Leeds United forward Enoch Showunmi announced that he was 'feeling good' after taking part in his first full training session for seven months this week.

The striker, who scored five goals in six starts for Leeds at the beginning of last season, was ruled out in December last year after suffering a blood clot on his lung.

Huddersfield Town have made their fifth capture of the summer, 20-year-old Watford striker Theo Robinson, 20.

Robinson, who has scored 23 goals in 61 career starts, described the offer from Lee Clark as "an opportunity that I had too take".

He also stated his confidence in the Huddersfield side, and believes Clark's team can progress into the Championship.

Burnley manager Owen Coyle has arranged nine friendlies in the space of four weeks in the hope his side will be ready for the demands of the Premier League.

The Clarets begin their preparations in earnest at Bradford City a week today, with a two-match mini tour of America included in their hectic warm-up programme.

Coyle said: "That's the way we like it.

"We love football and love working hard.

"We have that work ethic at the club, each and every one of us. That is important, and we hope it will be bear fruit.

"When we go and play in the Premier League we want to make sure we give performances that bring us points."
