Mike Tindall has lost out to Steve Borthwick in the battle to be England's captain for next month's tour to New Zealand.
With Phil Vickery ruled out through injury, new head coach Martin Johnson has preferred Bath lock Borthwick, 28, to Otley-born Tindall.

First-choice outside-centre when he is fit, Tindall's injury record probably counted against him.

However, Yorkshire is well represented in the squad, with Charlie Hodgson, Jamie Noon and young scrum-half Danny Care included alongside Tindall. Former Leeds lock Tom Palmer and former Rotherham pair David Strettle and Nick Easter are also named in the 32-man party.

Care is one of six uncapped players, the others being Northampton hooker Dylan Hartley, Bristol prop Jason Hobson and London Irish trio David Paice, Nick Kennedy and Topsy Ojo.

Former Bradford Bulls wing Lesley Vainikolo, former Leeds full-back Iain Balshaw and Wasps lock Simon Shaw are notable omissions, along with Shane Geraghty, Josh Lewsey and Mark Cueto. Jonny Wilkinson, Lewis Moody, Harry Ellis and James Simpson-Daniel miss out through injury.

Leeds wing Tom Biggs has been overlooked for a place in the England A squad for the Churchill Cup. Former Leeds hooker-cum-flanker Rob Webber is chosen, as are his former Leeds colleague Jordan Crane, and ex-Wakefield and Rotherham prop Nick Lloyd.
