ENGLAND return to action next month when they play the first of two highly-anticipated games against the Exiles.
Steve McNamara’s side are due to take on the cream of Super League’s overseas talent in the concept which first came to life last season.
St Helens’ Langtree Park hosts the opening International Origin Series fixture on Saturday June 16 and the Yorkshire Post has teamed up with the RFL to offer readers the chance to win five pairs of tickets for the showdown.
England are still smarting from last year’s loss when George Carmont’s last-ditch try saw the Exiles win the inaugural event 16-12 at Headingley Carnegie.
Leeds Rhinos star Jamie Peacock is again likely to lead England into battle with stellar performers such as prolific team-mate Ryan Hall, Wigan superstar Sam Tomkins and Hull FC wideman Tom Briscoe all hoping for redemption.
Huddersfield scrum-half Danny Brough is tipped to make his England debut while the Exiles can call on a wealth of supreme talent.
The Monaghan brothers at Warrington, Wigan’s quintet of Carmont, Kiwi World Cup winner Thomas Leuluai, ex-Man of Steel Pat Richards, New South Wales hero Brett Finch and New Zealand Jeff Lima, plus Hull FC’s explosive Willie Manu.
The Exiles will be captained by another former Man of Steel and ex-Huddersfield captain Brett Hodgson, the Australian full-back who – now the competition has been doubled into a two-match series – will be desperate to also win at Galpharm Stadium on Wednesday July 4.
Tickets for both matches in the International Origin Series are now on general sale and can be purchased through the RFL Ticket office on 0844 856 1113 or by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk.
