Ali's nine-wicket haul catches out Harden

Aire-Wharfe

Jamie Pickering and David Morgan hit centuries as Rawdon maintained their position at the top of Division One at the halfway stage even though struggling Silsden managed to hold on for a point.

Pickering cracked 18 fours and two sixes in his 139 and shared an opening stand of 118 with Niall Colman (27) and then put on 124 with Morgan, whose 100 included five sixes.

Andrew Doidge (6-33) looked set to win the game for Rawdon but the visitors hung on to their last two wickets to draw.

Rawdon still extended their lead to four points because North Leeds could only pick up two points at Green Lane, and they have now taken just six points from the last 18. Ishitkhar Hussain (5-44) thwarted their chase of Lane's 182 of which Mahsood Ahmed hit 59.

James Lilley included a hat-trick in his 7-50 as third-placed Burley were bowled out for 121 and even though Jason Wright responded with a season-best 8-54, Beckwithshaw got home with a wicket to spare to maintain their title challenge.

Brian Leigh's half-century was the highlight as Collingham continued to move away from the bottom with five points off Guiseley while Jeff Shires (4-43) and son Mark (3-29) combined to bowl out Kirkstall for 155 in reply to Adel's 202-8 of which John Stringer hit a half-century.

Despite 81 from Imran Mirza, there was still no joy for bottom club Calverley, Dale Tormey (88no) and Matthew O'Grady (35no) seeing Otley past their 177-6 with seven wickets to spare.

Thackley needed a stunning piece of bowling from Mahir Ali to hang on to top spot in Division Two. His 9-84, all caught, dismissed second from bottom Harden for 141, just five short of victory,

Illingworth remain just two points back, Alex Lees the star of their eight-wicket win over Bardsey, following up his 4-23 with a top score of 33.

Third-placed Pool crashed to a shock defeat at home to Tong Park Esholt, for whom Nadeem Hanif (5-53) and Gary Wilkinson (49no) were the star performers.

John Akrigg (106) and Jonathan Best (86no) helped Steeton to 238-7 and Follifoot had to settle for two points and have now taken only 12 points from the last six games as they have slipped from top of the table.
