All-round display from Scholefield lifts Mirfield
Solly Central Yorks ALL-rounder Alex Scholefield was outstanding as Mirfield Parish Cavaliers trounced the Premier Division's bottom team Scholes.
Scholefield hammered 125 and bagged 4-37 as Cavaliers won a 31-over match by 154 runs.
He shared a 203-run opening stand with Iqbal Khan (74) as Cavaliers racked up 256-3, which also included 30 from Ibrar Latif.
Craig Wood was Scholes's best bowler with 3-26.
In reply, Scholes were sent reeling from 65-2 to 102 all out by Scholefield, David Winn (3-12) and Mohammed Shahnawaz
(2-38).
Methley beat Ossett by seven wickets in a 25-over contest in the only other Premier Division match that managed to survive the rain.
Chris Leaf snapped up 6-34 from 12 overs and Vic Craven grabbed 3-46 as Ossett were routed for 86.
Ossett were going okay at 54 with only two down but lost their last eight wickets for just 32 runs, despite a defiant 28 from Stephen Brown.
Craven (22no) and Stephen Bourne (21no) shared a trouble-free unbroken 36-run stand as Methley knocked off the runs with four overs to spare, while Ossett's Brown did well to claim 2-29.
Third-placed Methley's victory was not enough, however, to earn them a place in the first round of the Senior Yorkshire Council Championship play-offs which will take place on August 24.
Trophy holders Wrenthorpe and Birstall will represent the league.
Birstall host Premier Division title rivals Wrenthorpe next Saturday in a match that will decide which team actually qualifies for the play-offs by finishing in top spot.
Wrenthorpe are just one point ahead of Birstall who boast an unbeaten league record this season.
All Saturday's First and Second Division matches were abandoned without a ball being bowled.
First Division leaders Stanley have a three-point lead over Altofts, with East Ardsley a further two points adrift in third place.
