Great Scott takes tally above the 1,500-mark

Aire-Wharfe

Mick Scott took his Aire-Wharfe tally to 1501 wickets when he picked up 5-43 as Tong Park Esholt beat Colton by nine wickets.

In a career stretching back to 1970, Scott has also had a spell at Skipton and at Saltaire in the Bradford League where he took more than 300 wickets.

His latest five-wicket haul helped dismiss Colton for 180 and Luke Waters (103) and Phil Hanson (53no) rounded off the celebrations.

Thackley's Mahir Ali (6-23) was another bowler in form, helping his side defend a 150 total by bowling out Follifoot for 92.

Richard Dixon (5-77) restricted Pool to 199-8 of which Chris Loveridge scored an unbeaten half century, but Illingworth could only manage 165-8. That leaves Illingworth three points clear of Follifoot, Pool and Thackley at the top of Division Two.

Opener Andrew Foulds (75) was the last Upper Wharfedale batsman out but their 141 was easily passed by Darren Blenkiron (66no) and Darren Simpson who hit an unbeaten 73 in 53 balls to register Bilton's first win and move out of the bottom two. Their place was taken by Harden who were no match for Knaresborough after the visitors set a formidable 291-6 with Adam Pryor (116) and Jonathan Corcoran (61no) leading the way.

Andy Ward (5-47) caused most of the damage as Harden were bowled out for 209 despite a spirited 62 from No7 batsman Steve Bateman.

Neil Spragg (66no) and Alex Gledhill (4-15) were stars as Steeton beat Bardsey by eight wickets.

Green Lane went back to the top of Division One, Yasir Ali (60 and 4-15) their star performer as they inflicted a first defeat on second placed Beckwithshaw.
