Honley romp into last four

Huddersfield Sykes Cup: Harlon Haye's blistering pace brought him seven wickets for six runs as holders Honley demolished Conference side Kirkburton for 35 and romped to a 10-wicket success.

Haye included seven maidens in his 9.5 overs and Ritchie Howarth supported admirably with 3-10, including a hat-trick. Kirkburton opener and former Honley batsman Darren Hinchliffe faced 99 balls and carried his bat for 21 in a stoic defensive performance.

Indian all-rounder Amit Dani saw last season's runners-up Skelmanthorpe safely through at the expense of Conference side Marsden.

Dani's pace bowling brought him five wickets for 35 runs as Marsden were shot out for 147 despite a fine innings of 68 by Matthew Butters. Dani then made an undefeated half-century and Richard Parker hit 49, Skelmanthorpe winning by eight wickets.

Teenage opener Tom Denton hit 16 fours in a century in Shepley's victory by 112 runs against Meltham. Australian Trent Copeland made 67 and 20-year-old Danny Glover took 7-21.

Ian Hague hit 87 for Delph & Dobcross who beat Micklehurst.
