North Leeds crash to hand Rawdon the lead
Aire-Wharfe
Rawdon clinched victory over Beckwithshaw with three balls to spare and jumped to the top of the table above North Leeds, who crashed to their first defeat of the season at home to Collingham.
It was a positive response from Collingham following their 26 points deduction for fielding an ineligible player early in the campaign. Captain Toby Jacklin led the way, his 16-over spell of 6-45 the highlight as North Leeds were dismissed for 182.
Eugene Burzler (75) led the reply and Tim Hollis (42no) and Sam Anderson (40no) saw the game out.
John Inglis (50) and Ben Quick (62) helped Beckwithshaw to set Rawdon a target of 220 and they squeezed home thanks to captain Stewart Smith (70) and David Morgan who followed up his 5-60 with a half century.
Yasir Ali hit an unbeaten 124 as Green Lane set a target of 248-7 but fast improving Kirkstall Educational passed it with five balls and three wickets to spare, Jos Siddall top scoring with 68.
Dale Tormey's 69 and an unbeaten 40 from Matthew O'Grady were the highlights as Otley clinched a three wicket win over Adel, while a half century from Adam Waite was the star turn of Guiseley's comfortable seven-wicket victory over Silsden.
Teenager Ryan Cooper scored his maiden half century for Burley and with Nick Brook (65) helped his side to 236-9. Brook then took five cheap wickets as Calverley collapsed to 113 despite 40 from Imran Mirza.
Upper Wharfedale produced a shock win over Division Two leaders Illingworth, allowing Thackley to take over top spot.
Alex Lees (90) was the only Illingworth batsman in form, with Phil Binner picking up five wickets as the visitors were dismissed for 185. Justin Graham (87no) and James Freebury (68no) clinched victory with a stand of 165.
Rick Breakwell (73), Liaq ur Rehman (48) and Leon Harber (46no) laid the foundation for Thackley's 229-7. Mahir Ali followed up with 6-49 and even though Bilton's last pair hung on for a point, Thackley had done enough to go top.
Jonty Smith and Johnny Davis each took four wickets – Davis including a hat-trick to finish off the innings – but the visitors' 227 was too good for Bardsey who were dismissed for 134.
