ST Chad's are the new Second Division leaders after former pacesetters Walton tumbled to their first league defeat.

Khawar Yasin (4-35) and Ifthaq Hussain (3-30) led St Chad's to a 55-run win over promotion rivals Bramhope that put them four points ahead of Walton.

Chasing Whixley's 178-7 that featured 86 by Australian Shane Townsend, Walton were bowled out for 148 by Stuart Whitham (5-30).

Bramham climbed off the foot of the table for the first time since May when Andy Lloyd (60no) and Dave Robson (41) steered them to a six-wicket win over fellow strugglers Crossgates.

Old Leos and South Milford slipped deeper into relegation trouble.

James Liddle's century was in vain for Milford in a 129-run defeat at Kirk Hammerton who racked up the day's highest total of 343-7 thanks to Nigel Nattress (84), Hayden Datson (67) and Liam Fisher (61).

Mark Schofield (71no) guided Bilton to a two-wicket win at Old Leos, who were skittled for 131 by Andrew Walker (4-43) and Max Latchmore (3-18).

Spofforth moved closer to lifting the First Division title for the 13th time when they increased their lead to 22 points by beating neighbours Sicklinghall by three wickets.

Kirk Deighton's title hopes faded in the rain at Shadwell.
