Scholes slip-up as Winrow hits out
DRAKES HUDDERSFIELD SUNDAY
PAUL Winrow's century inspired Barkisland to a shock six-wicket victory over leaders Scholes who suffered only their second league defeat of the season, at Woodfield yesterday.
Scholes batted first and Iqbal Khan's undefeated 63 helped them to 214-5. Then Winrow hammered 15 fours and a six in his match-winning innings of 103.
Honley's seven-match winning run ended at Golcar who won by three wickets in the 44th over. Honley batted first and totalled 242-7 and Golcar were struggling in reply until Steve Whitwam and Adam France put on 136 for the seventh wicket, Whitwam finishing undefeated on 124, while France made 53.
Elland kept up their title challenge with a four-wicket win with 17 overs to spare against Meltham. Shahid Raja led the way with a half-century.
Micklehurst's alarming slide continued at Skelmanthorpe where they lost by eight wickets.
