Video: Glenn Maxwell ready to make an impact for Yorkshire

NEW import signing Glenn Maxwell was unveiled by Yorkshire Cricket Club today and is expected to play in tonight’s T20 warm-up game against a Harrogate Select XI.

The 26-year-old from Melbourne has come stright from the Indian Premier League and will make his full debut in this Friday’s NatWest T20 Blast at Trent Brudge against Nottingham Outlaws.

He had hoped to make his debut in last night’s T20 warm-up game against a Bradford League representative team but only arrived in Mancehster at 8am in the morning from India.

“Statistically twenty20 is probably my worst format,” said Maxwell.

“I am looking forward to playing some red-ball cricket – initially as cover for Aaron (Finch) and then for Yorkshire second team when he comes back.

“It is great to be representing Yorkshire, especially after what they achieved last season in winning the County Championship.”
