Alex and Azarah prove best at Burghley event

Alex Postolowsky, from Market Rasen, had a major win in the Burghley Young Event Horse final against some stiff opposition.

Riding the Dutch-bred mare Azarah, Alex competed in the four-year-old final which consisted of a dressage test, a round of show-jumping and cross-country jumps followed by an assessment of the horse's conformation.

"It was so exciting, it is such a prestigious class to win and I was so proud that I was standing top of the line-up," said Alex.

She went into the final section with a strong lead and enough marks to take the top spot ahead of Pippa Funnell. Azarah is owned by show-jumper Rachael Evison, who lives in Howden.
