Team news: David Meyler suffered a back injury during the midweek Capital One Cup defeat to West Brom and is a major doubt. Steve Bruce is expected to revert to the XI that started against Newcastle a week ago, meaning Hatem Ben Arfa returns to the bench.
Brentford v Leeds United
Team news: Gaetano Berardi will miss the trip to west London through suspension but Alex Mowatt is back after a toe problem.
Cardiff City v Sheffield Wednesday
Team news: Glenn Loovens will return to the starting line-up after being rested for the midweek Cup trip to Manchester City. He will replace Kamil Zayatte, who serves a one-game ban following his red card at the Etihad.
Charlton Athletic v Middlesbrough
Team news: Mindful of his side’s 120-minute cup marathon at Liverpool, Aitor Karanka could make changes with Jelle Vossen, Emilio Nsue, Yanick Wildschut, Dimi Konstantopoulos, Patrick Bamford and Ben Gibson pushing for starts. Damia, Rhys Williams and Mustapha Carayol are sidelined.
Huddersfield Town v Millwall
Team news: Anthony Gerrard and Martin Paterson are back training with the first team and will be assessed by Chris Powell. James Vaughan (hamstring) remains sidelined.
Ipswich Town v Rotherham United
Team news: Anthony Wordsworth and Paul Taylor are ineligible after their loan moves from Ipswich, while Craig Morgan is suspended. Kari Arnason, who picked up a knock last weekend and Richie Smallwood (hamstring) will be assessed. Alex Revell should be okay after suffering a dead leg, while Mark Bradley and Rob Milsom are closing in on a return.
Barnsley v Swindon Town
Team news: Danny Wilson reports no fresh injury concerns, with Ross Turnbull showing no ill effects after making his seasonal bow and second debut last weekend. The only long-time casualty is George Smith (broken toe).
Bradford City v Port Vale
Team news: Alan Sheehan returns from suspension, while Matty Dolan is also back after a hip problem. Stephen Darby could return after missing his first game in 86 during midweek with a tight groin but James Hanson is still out and unlikely to return for another fortnight.
Sheffield United v Gillingham
Team news: Chris Basham makes his return but Jamal Campbell-Ryce (calf) and Jose Baxter (hamstring) are missing for Sheffield United.
Walsall v Doncaster Rovers
Team news: Nathan Tyson is out with concussion and the game will come a bit too early for Curtis Main, on the way back from a knee injury. Rob Jones is also expected to be missing again.
Dagenham and Redbridge v York City
Team news: Michael Ingham will retain his place in goal despite last week’s blunder in the 3-2 defeat to Southend United. Nigel Worthington has no fresh injury problems.
