It’s the opening weekend of the new football season and here’s the team news for all Yorkshire’s clubs.

Championship

Hull City v Huddersfield Town

Team news: Mo Diame is missing for the Tigers despite having trained with the squad all week but Robert Snodgrass is still facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines. For Huddersfield, James Vaughan and Ishmael Miller have both struggled for playing time during pre-season and may not be risked from the start.

Leeds United v Burnley

Team news: Luke Murphy and Tomasso Bianchi will both sit out the opening day clash but Stuart Dallas, Chris Wood, Lee Erwin and Tom Adeyemi could all make their bows. Sol Bamba will capatin the side.

Preston v Middlesbrough

Sunday 12pm

Team news: Ben Gibson (hamstring) is missing, but Christian Stuani could be involved, with the paperwork now completed following his move from Espanyol. Alex Baptiste is on the long-term injured list with Rhys Williams also out.

Rotherham United v MK Dons

Team news: Joe Mattock is rated 60-40 by Millers boss Steve Evans, while Kirk Broadfoot serves the first match of a ten-game suspension. A host of players including Chris Maguire, Greg Halford, Aidy White, Danny Collins and Joe Newell are eyeing league debuts for the club.

Sheffield Wednesday v Bristol City

Team news: The Owls are set for a number of debuts, but Claude Dielna (foot) and Filipe Melo (knee) miss out through injury in Carlos Carvalhal’s first game in English football. Owls right-back Marnick Vermijl has joined Preston on a season-long loan.

Chesterfield v Barnsley

Team news: Summer signing Ryan Williams will be missing for Lee Johnson’s team which travels to Derbyshire, but Barnsley have no other injury worries. Williams, 21, who impressed last season on loan, has a groin injury which will keep him out for a couple of weeks.

Doncaster Rovers v Bury

Team news: Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov has no injury problems ahead of the first game of the season. That could mean a Rovers debut for summer signings Dany N’Guessan, Richard Chaplow, Gary MacKenzie and Andy Williams.
