BARNSLEY boss Danny Wilson was the first to acknowledge his side were second-best in Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to Premier Division chasing Burnley - which plunged them deeper into the Championship relegation mire.
An early goal for Ashley Barnes saw the Clarets move to within touching distance of the top-flight and they will be celebrating promotion if they beat Middlesbrough on Saturday and Derby slip up.
For the Reds, it was a forgettable night on an evening in which Millwall and Charlton both won, with the Oakwell outfit now five points adrift of safety with six matches to go, with their next assignment being at Bolton this weekend.
Wilson said: “We have to look at ourselves more than anything. We didn’t create anywhere near enough chances.
“That’s not the first time Burnley have kept a clean sheet and for a team that is not conceding goals, you can see exactly why.”
