Leeds United, Hull City and Huddersfield Town picked up precious victories in their hunt for promotion.
Simon Grayson’s Leeds beat Paul Jewell’s Ipswich Town in the Championship as second-placed Sheffield United lost to leaders Charlton in League One.
With Sheffield Wednesday dropping more points at home, it left Huddersfield Town to go second with a 3-2 tea-time win over Brentford.

The visitors took the lead with two goals in three minutes from Darius Henderson (36 pen, 39). He completed his hat-trick with 15 minutes remaining. Jimmy McNulty replied for Barnsley.
Bristol City 2 Doncaster Rovers 1
Chris Wood (26) opened scoring for City, before Kalifa Cisse (31) made it 2-0. Rovers were reduced to 10 men when Habib Beye was sent off. El-Hadji Diouf (75) pulled a goal back for Rovers.
Leeds United 3 Ipswich Town 1
Lee Martin (34) put the visitors in front, before Robert Snodgrass equalised with Town reduced to 10 men after goalkeeper Alex McCarthy was sent off for deliberate handball outside his area. Ross McCormack (82) and Luciano Becchio gave United victory.
Reading 0 Hull City 1
Robbie Brady (66) broke the stalemate for the Tigers with a second-half winner.
League One
Charlton Athletic 1 Sheffield United 0
Johnnie Jackson (21) gave the League One leaders all three points with a tremendous free kick.
Sheffield Wednesday 2 Hartlepool United 2
Peter Hartley (47) headed United in front before Jermaine Johnson (58) and Gary Madine (75) put Owls in front. Anthony Sweeney equalised on 87 minutes with a long-range effort.
Huddersfield Town 3 Brentford 2
Two first-half goals from Gary Alexander put the Bees in front, before Alan Lee, Jamie McCombe and Jordan Rhodes replied.
League Two
Bradford City 1 Burton Albion 1
Andrew Davies (43) fired the Bantams in front from a free kick. Chris Palmer (85) equalised for Burton.
Rotherham United 0 Port Vale 1
Marc Richards (57) gave the visitors all three points from the penalty spot after Marcus Marshall was penalised for a foul,

Matty Blair (10) put City in front, before Scott Brown was sent off five minutes later. Nathaniel Pinney (50) equalised for the visitors only for Blair (53) to restore York’s lead, before James Meredith added a third. Calum Willock replied late on for United.
