The game is the undoubted League One match-of-the-day with 4,300 Bantams fans travelling over the Pennines to the Macron Stadium for the club’s first reunion with former boss Parkinson, who left Valley Parade in the summer for Wanderers along with coaching and support staff Steve Parkin, Lee Butler, Matt Barrass and Nick Allamby.

Ahead of the trans-Pennine trip, McCall says that he has a couple of injury issues, but is not revealing who the players are.

McCall said: “We have got a couple of little niggles that will hopefully clear up by Saturday.

“It is a shame we didn’t have a reserve game during the week for the likes of Rory (McArdle) and Nathan Clarke.

“We have had a good week’s training but Nathan’s not had a game since he’s been out.

“But it is good to have most of the squad available.”

McCall is keen to focus on the game as opposed to the occasion at the weekend, but is confident that Parkinson will receive a good reception from the claret and amber followers.

He added: “I would be really surprised and disappointed if he gets anything other than a really good ovation from the fans.”
