Bradford manager Stuart McCall said: “It’s no disgrace to get beat at Bury. They’ve got a lot of players back and will beat some good teams.

“We made a good start but the penalty changes everything. It was one of the most accidental penalties I’ve seen. It was just a coming together, they just collided. It was an unfortunate decision.

“Then we gave away a goal straight from kick-off so it was two minutes of madness. We were a bit sloppy in the first half.

“But second half we had so many good opportunities and Romain’s is the one that you’d expect him to bury.

“We were knocking on the door and were always susceptible at the back because they left two up front. But I thought there was a goal coming and we’d go on to win it. Unfortunately is wasn’t our day.

“If we were more clinical, we could have got something from it, but we can’t dwell on it too much.”
