Phil Parkinson’s Bradford City are six points of the relegation zone following a narrow defeat to Dagenham in League Two.
Matthew Saunders curled home a 25-yard free-kick to see fellow strugglers Dagenham climb out of the drop zone.
The Bantams went closest in the opening half. First Lee Bullock saw his header blocked on the line and another effort just clear the crossbar.
But the hosts’ Saunders broke the deadlock after Josh Scott was fouled by Richie Jones.
And the goal spurred on the home side on with Jon Nurse and Brian Woodall both testing Bantams goalkeeper John McLaughlin.
