Bradford City lost ground in the League One play-off battle after a 3-0 loss at Gillingham.
Defeat leaves Phil Parkinson’s side trailing the top six by six points.
The Bantams were behind after just four minutes, when Bradley Dack netted with a long-range effort.
And it got worse for City, when Rory Donnelly scored seven minutes later.
Doug Loft added a third in the 89th minutes, and Bradford’s poor away trip was completed when Nathan Clarke was sent off in stoppage time.
Phil Parkinson said: “We were second best at the start of the game and we got punished for it, and that is not good enough and not acceptable.
“At two-nil down, we’ve had chances in the game but it is a bit too late to start playing then.
“We’ve had some great opportunities to score but we have to do better, we have to make the ‘keeper work.”
