ROTHERHAM UNITED tops the list of Yorkshire clubs offering the most expensive average day out at a football match, according to BBC Sport’s latest Price of Football survey.
The cost of the cheapest day out to watch the promoted Millers, including a match-day ticket, pie, cup of tea and programme, is averaged out at £33, the highest in the county.
The best value club across the Broad Acres for a day out watching football are Sheffield Wednesday, with the cheapest day out at Hillsborough being just £17.80 - representing the best value in the Championship.
Figures show the cheapest day out price at Bradford City is £28.40 followed by West Yorkshire neighbours Leeds United at £28.20.
The average price of a footballing day out at League One clubs Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley is £28.10.
Meanwhile, the match-day cost at both Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United has increased significantly.
The average match-day experience price for 2014 at the Blades - who had provided the cheapest levels in the Football League in 2013 and 2012, is now up to £27.90. The level last season at Bramall Lane was £17.70.
Huddersfield Town, the cheapest Championship day out during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 campaigns, has an average figure of £27, up from the total day-out cost of £17.80 last year.
York City’s day-out cost averages out at £25.80, with a day out at the KC Stadium to watch Hull City averaged out at £24, the second lowest level in the Premier League behind Newcastle United.
