DONCASTER’s manager Paul Dickov hailed Harry Forrester as “unplayable” after he made one and scored one in Rovers’ first home win for three months.

Recalled Forrester laid on Andy Butler’s second-minute goal and then curled home a scrumptious effort on 22 minutes to seal only Rovers’ second home win of the season, against Coventry, who finished the game with nine men.

“Harry was unplayable,” said Dickov. “His attitude has been fantastic when he’s not been in the team.

“He’s been frustrated but he’s also understood Kyle [Bennett] has been playing well and he’s waited patiently for his chance.

“I’ve said it all along – Harry Forrester is one of the best players outside the top two divisions and he showed that.”

Doncaster’s well deserved victory – which was helped by red cards shown to Adam Barton and James Maddison in the final quarter – was their first win at home since September 20, when they beat Chesterfield 3-2.

“We felt it’s been coming,” said Dickov. “I know a few people have been critical of the last few performances at home, and possibly rightly so because we’ve not won.

“We really wanted to finish the year here at the Keepmoat with a win and I thought it was deserved.

“A little bit of confidence probably made the difference,” he added. “There was a real determination about the lads – and I know they should have that all the time – about getting the win. We’ll go to Peterborough now in confident mood.”
