DEAN FURMAN, Reece Wabara and Stephen Bywater are among six senior Doncaster Rovers players who have been released by the club.

Meanwhile, player-coach Rob Jones has been offered a new deal by Rovers, with Kyle Bennett, Ben Askins, Mitchell Lund, Harry Middleton, Liam Wakefield and Billy Whitehouse also been tabled with new contract offers.

But midfielder Furman, defender Wabara and keeper Bywater will depart for pastures new, along with Jamie McCombe, Abdul Razak, Theo Robinson, Lewis Ferguson and Alex Peterson.

Aron Gordon, Alexander Head and Jack McClaren have not been offered professional contracts, but Matthew Davies has been offered an extended scholarship.

Ben Askins has been offered a six-month contract until December 31.

Loan player Enda Stevens has returned to Aston Villa.
