DONCASTER ROVERS will confirm their new manager at a press conference at the Keepmoat Stadium tomorrow morning.
Former Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson is the strong favourite to be unveiled tomorrow, with other main candidates including interim boss Rob Jones and Danny Wilson.
Ferguson has figured prominently in the betting since Dickov was axed and is understood to have been interviewed for the position earlier this week along with Jones, Wilson, Lee Clark, Shaun Derry.
Jones and his coaching team took training yesterday, with players understood to have been expecting the new permanent manager to be in place - with the club hosting Bradford City in a big Yorkshire derby tomorrow.
The new manager will be introduced to the players today, but is unlikely to have too much time to work with his new charges ahead of tomorrow’s derby.
The appointment will end a five-and-a-half week wait for Dickov’s successor to be named, with the Scot sacked on September 8.
