Plenty of friendly action took place elsewhere last night, with former Leeds United, Rotherham United and Doncaster Rovers midfielder Paul Green appearing for Rovers in their 4-0 win at non-league Rossington Main.

Green, 33, affectionately remembered by Rovers fans for his part in helping the club to promotion to League One and the Championship, has linked up with former club for pre-season training following his release from the Millers.

Rovers took the lead, courtesy of a sublime free-kick from James Coppinger and Will Longbottom added a second and goals arrived after the break from Tommy Rowe and Andy Williams.

Rotherham United triumphed 2-1 against Polish second-tier side Miedz Legnica in their tour opener in Poland, thanks to second-half goals from Jerry Yates and Richie Smallwood, with the Millers fielding several trialists.

The Millers face Gornik Zabrze on Friday.

Huddersfield Town prevailed in a behind-closed-doors game with Rochdale yesterday, thanks to goals from Elias Kachunga and Nahki Wells.

FC Halifax Town best Mossley FC 4-0 with goals coming from Richard Peniket, Jake Hibbs Sharaz Khan and Elliott Harrison.

Action tonight sees Leeds United visit Dublin side Shelbourne and Sheffield Wednesday go to Alfreton Town for their opening friendly of the close-season.
