FC Halifax Town were relegated from the National League after drawing 1-1 with Macclesfield and Guiseley beat Torquay 4-3.

Town beat Guiseley in the semi-finals of the Conference North play-offs to gain their National League status, but were sent back to that division by The Lions and former Halifax skipper Mark Bower.

Scott McManus scored only his second goal of the campaign and his first in the league since the final day of last season at Woking to trigger unrestrained joy inside The Shay just before half-time.

But that joy was short-lived when Danny Rowe equalised after the interval - a blow from which Town never recovered, despite hitting the post in added time.
