Fletcher returned to Manchester United after helping Barnsley win promotion to the Championship.

Leeds United have also been heavily linked to the 20-year-old striker.

Former Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler is the favourite to become the next manager of Bradford City.

The Bantams were taken over by German owners last month and manager Phil Parkinson left last week to take over at the Bantams’ League One rivals Bolton.

German Rosler lasted just two months into last season as head coach of Leeds United, but has pedigree of having also managed Wigan Athletic and Brentford.

Guiseppe Bellusci, the Leeds United defender, is being linked with a move back to his homeland of Italy, with Empoli the favourites to secure his signature.

Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City are said to be in the running for ex-Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher but could face competition from Scottish champions Celtic.

Fletcher was released by Premier League side Sunderland last week and is available on a free transfer.

Aston Villa are also said to be interested, according to the Daily Record.

MK Dons defender Kyle McFadzean is being linked with a move back to Sheffield United, where he started his career.

McFadzean initially left the Blades for Crawley Town.
