The Tigers ended their unwanted distinction of being the only Championship club not to make a senior signing this summer by bringing in the highly-rated 20-year-old.

Slutsky, however, is keen to push on and make further signings after flying out yesterday to Portugal for the start of the club’s 12-day training camp.

The Russian spoke last week of the need to bring in six or seven new faces after Hull bid farewell to Harry Maguire, Curtis Davies and Josh Tymon following relegation.

Kamil Grosicki and Tom Huddlestone are just two of City’s existing squad who are also understood to be interesting other clubs.

The winger, wanted by Basel, netted 16 times in the Swiss League last season.
