Leeds will travel across the Pennines to take on Blackburn Rovers, newly-promoted Wigan Athletic and Preston North End – managed by former United boss Simon Grayson.

The furthest north that United supporters will have to travel this coming season is Newcastle United.

The Whites took a staggering 6,000 fans to St James’s Park the last time the two teams met which was back in September 2013. Newcastle won 2-0 and both sets of fans were chanting the name of Gary Speed.

Leeds will also face midlands trips to Burton Albion, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Derby County and Nottingham Forest.

United’s longest trip of the season will be the 528-mile round trip to Brighton and Hove Albion. And the Leeds fans will be hoping they won’t have to make that particular marathon trek on a week-night in 2016-17.
