Cardiff midfielder Peter Whittingham twice struck the woodwork as Leeds clung on to go in level at the break.
Whittingham forced a fine save out of Rob Green after 15 minutes, with the veteran keeper tipping a strike onto the top of the crossbar.

Bridcutt limped off early in the second half of Tuesday night’s 2-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers with a foot injury and has failed to make United’s match day 18 against Cardiff.
