Giuseppe Bellusci set for return to action for Leeds United

The YEP understands that Bellusci failed to make last Saturday’s match-day 18 for disciplinary reasons having walked off the training pitch at last Friday’s training session after learning he wasn’t in the side to face the Tigers.

Scott Wootton made the bench instead but was an unused substitute as Leeds held the promotion-chasing hosts to a 2-2 draw.

Whites head coach Evans said: “I just think that when you name a team people always react in different ways.

“All I know is that I pick it based on what I see in training and what we are doing.

“I don’t always pick the team that people want, but you pick the team with real integrity that can win you the match and Scott Wootton had trained particularly well and deserved to be on the bench.

“Peppe will be available for selection and we will pick the 18 as we did for Hull City, with a great integrity. We will look at a combination of things, how they have performed in games is obviously the key factor because that’s the bread and butter and the other opportunities to shine of course are at Thorp Arch, whether it be in a 21s fixture or a training ground game or just general training but training has been really good this week with a really high intensity.”

Asked if he had any issues with Bellusci moving forward, Evans insisted: “None. I am one of these managers that over the years, with the benefit of experience, you manage issues as you go forward.

“You deal with every situation as you go forward, every coach and manager is the same and as long as there is a real willingness to work hard and win and be successful in what we are trying to do then that’s all I count on.

“There’s certainly no bust up. No-one has bust ups on the training ground and I think those days have gone.

“I stick by what we said last week, you pick 18 players based on what they do in training and based on what they do in games. That’s what we did for Hull City and that’s what we will do for Charlton because for our final home game of the season it has to be massively important that we have a thank you to our supporters for their support over the last nine months.”
