In-form Leeds told to respect lowly Hornets

Have your say

LEEDS United manager Simon Grayson has warned his players not to underestimate struggling Watford at Vicarage Road today.

The Hornets are currently 17th in the Championship but will be aiming to disrupt United’s promotion charge.

Back-to-back wins over Nottingham Forest and Millwall, which saw six goals scored without reply, have kept Leeds in touch with pace-setters Southampton and West Ham United.

“It’ll be a tough game,” said Grayson. “They have some good players and some good threats. They also have good character, which is summed up by the way they came from 1-0 down to win at Ipswich.

“Anyone who is underestimating them shouldn’t be. Sean (Dyche) is doing a good job there and they are a decent team.”

Captain Jonny Howson is likely to miss the game after being referred to a specialist over his knee injury, which was aggravated last weekend.

Michael Brown is rated doubtful for the trip after picking up an ankle injury against Millwall.
