Neil Warnock does not believe Leeds’s League Cup quarter-final opponents Chelsea will be affected by their Club World Cup disappointment.

Rafa Benitez’s side were beaten 1-0 by Brazilian side Corinthians on Sunday morning and on their return to England travel north to take on Warnock’s buoyant side.

“It depends which way you look at it” said Warnock, ahead of Wednesday’s Capital One Cup quarter-final.

“They’ve got a selection problem themselves, who to play or who not to play?

“Without a shadow of a doubt the manager will look to win it because he’s an interim manager and he’ll want to win every game and every competition he can so I know how much it will mean to him.”

On the prospects of his own side, who have accounted for Premier League outfits Southampton and Everton en route to the last eight, Warnock added: “We can give anyone a run for their money on our patch and it promises to be a really god cup tie.

“There’s nothing else happening in the country that night so all eyes will be on the cup tie and it will be exciting.”
