Leeds United close in on late transfer window signing

Simon Grayson plots late transfer raid.

Simon Grayson plots late transfer raid.

SIMON GRAYSON has revealed Leeds United are closing in on their fifth signing of the transfer window.

The United manager is keen to strengthen further following the loan arrival of Andors Townsend and Fabian Delph plus the permanent captures of Danny Pugh and Robbie Rogers.

Leeds are tracking several targets ahead of tomorrow’s closing of the window at 11pm but Grayson says one in particular sounds close.

He said: “One deal is moving a lot closer than one or two others. I won’t tell you who but things are moving.

“We want to have some positive news by 11pm but time will tell how many we get in.”

YEP - you are winding us up. You know Mr Harvey is excited as it is 5th signing of a season ticket renewal form in the transfer window!

#7 Don't hold your breath Thomas, Bates is going nowhere fast. He is making so much money out of our football club, why on Earth would he give up this nice little earner?

I see southampton are buying Billy Sharp. A team that was only just promoted this season. Obviously they are a much better run club if they can afford such signings. Look and learn Larry & Ken you Imbeciles! LOL! once you guys have left Leeds, it'll be curtains for you, no other Chairman in their right minds would hire you after this shambles, career over, best pack up and move to that little Caribbean tax haven.

HOW CAN LEEDS UTD GET A DECENT SIGNINGS WHILE NO MONEY CHAIRMAN MR BATES STAYS IN COMAND. HE IS JUST LOOKING AND WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO BUY HIM OFF AND MAKE HIM RICH AGAIN AS IM SURE HE IS SHORT OF MONEY AND THATS WHY HE CANT AFFORD LEEDS YTD ANYMORE. IF HE REALY LOVE THE GAME OF FOOTBALL AND LEEDS UTD HE SHOULD MOVE OUT OF THIS BUSNIES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IM LEEDS FANATIC FROM MALTA AND I CANT SEE MY TEAM MOVEING TO PREMIER LEAUGE AS HE STAYS THERE. HE IS DOING CHEAP SIGNINGS AND SHORT LOANS COS HE THINKS HE IS GOING TO SHUT US UP BUT WE LOVE LEEDS UTD AND WE CANT KEEP OUR MOUTH SHUT WHEN WE ARE EXPERIANCE THIS KIND OF CHEAP SIGNINGS. THOMAS CLINCH MALTA

"so because the wingers are unproven, you don't count them??? hahaha muppet" You have cheered me up!! 'Unproven' means gamble!! We have a long list of 'unproven' failures. So no I do not count them as 'players who can immediately play in the first team'. to quote Simon and Ken!! Kermit.

Yet agin another highly rated piece of journalistic investigation from the Yorkshire Post, ask Uncle Albert (Bates) who these mysterious signings are likely to be! names are thrown into the ring when he wants us to renew our season tickets, ie Delph, for a month, WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT, oh yes now I see through the smoke screen, "give them Delph for a couple of weeks " and the sale of Howson will be water under the bridge. Obviously Grayson is hanging on for the sacking which will follow our spiral down the table, he will throw away any compensation claim if he does the dignified thing and walks away now, Let's see if West Ham up their bid before 11pm tomorrow night.

As the purpose of these crucial signings is to dramatically improve an ailing squad I do not see it as a 4th or 5th signing. Danny Pugh was already here. The American lad and the boy from Spurs are both unproven wingers, who may or not make it! Our problems are defence and midfield!! So, just now we have signed Fab Delph. ONE 'squad improving' signing. Fingers crossed for the next 36 hours!!! We need 2 or 3 GOOD signings NOW!
