FA TROPHY: ‘Fantastic chance’ to reach Wembley

North Ferriby United are today looking to take a giant step towards Wembley.

The Villagers, in the Trophy semi-finals for the first time in the club’s 81-year history, face Conference South outfit Bath City over two legs knowing that a first visit to the rebuilt national stadium beckons.

North Ferriby, who played at the ‘old’ Wembley in the 1997 FA Vase final, will be without the injured Danny Emerton and Curtis Bateson, the latter ineligible, as they look to earn an advantage ahead of the second leg a week today.

Manager Billy Heath said: “We have got a fantastic opportunity to exceed all expectations and we have to grab it with both hands.

“For a small club like Ferriby to walk out at Wembley, it would be absolutely fantastic and an unbelievable achievement for the club.”
