FC Halifaxt Town v Dover: Aspin sets challenge

Neil Aspin has called on his FC Halifax Town to banish the disappointment of missing out on a place in the last four of the FA Trophy by beating another club who were knocked out in midweek.

The Shaymen were beaten by Wrexham in the quarter-finals to leave the league as the Yorkshire club’s only remaining focus.

Dover missed out on a meeting with North Ferriby United in the Trophy semi-finals after losing to Bath and Aspin wants to see Halifax inflict further pain on the southern club.

He said: “Dover, like us, have had the disappointment of losing but certainly in the league they have been the form team. They have done really well.”

Dover’s 13-game unbeaten run in the league ended with a defeat at Lincoln City on January 31 in their last Conference outing.

Aspin added: “Dover are in form. We have got some tough games coming up, there’s no question about it. But we are capable. I think everyone knows that.”
