Accrington Stanley v Rotherham United: Moore is tempted to stick with Marshall
ROTHERHAM manager Ronnie Moore is tempted to stay faithful to his squad even if two of his regulars are deemed ready for a return against Accrington Stanley tonight.
Nicky Law (groin) and on-loan Blackburn Rovers youngster Gavin Gunning (groin) are both hoping to be fit after missing Saturday's 1-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge.
But another player on loan from Ewood Park – midfielder Marcus Marshall – made his first start at the weekend and impressed.
"If Lawsy declares himself fit then it gives me a little problem," admitted Moore, who knows his side could return into the automatic promotion spots if they secure victory in Lancashire.
"Young Marcus played ever so well so I see no reason why I should leave him out.
"I couldn't have asked anything more from the lads who played.
"The back four were brilliant and we know if we can keep a clean sheet, we are always capable, especially with Alfie (Le Fondre), to nick a goal."
Meanwhile, Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has described Richard Offiong's proposed loan move to Rotherham as being "dead in the water".
The 25-year-old former Newcastle, York and Doncaster striker was set for a one-month switch but the deal has fallen through with neither club revealing why.
Last six games: Accrington Stanley LWLLDW, Rotherham United DDWLLW.
Referee: G Sutton (Lincolnshire).
Last time: Accrington Stanley 1 Rotherham United 3; December 20, 2008; League Two.
