Grimsby Town target Leeds United's Sweeney
LEAGUE TWO club Grimsby Town want to take Leeds United midfielder Peter Sweeney to Blundell Park on a permanent deal.
The former Stoke City man made eight appearances for the Mariners while on loan last season, after falling out of favour under Gary McAllister.
The 24-year-old last played for Leeds in May 2008.
Grimsby boss Mike Newell said: "We will do everything possible to persuade Peter that Grimsby is the place to come and play his football."
