Kandol faces three-match ban after Leeds United bust-up
LEEDS United striker Tresor Kandol will be banned for the club's next three games after pleading guilty to a charge of violent conduct.
Kandol was involved in a bust-up with Yeovil striker Sam Williams following last weekend's 4-0 victory at Elland Road.
His absence, which will be confirmed by the Football Association today, will leave manager Simon Grayson with a headache in attack for Saturday's FA Cup first-round tie at Oldham Athletic.
With Luciano Becchio injured and Welsh international Sam Vokes prevented from playing under the terms of his loan deal from Wolves, Grayson will look to Mike Grella or Enoch Showunmi to partner Jermaine Beckford.
Winger Max Gradel, who is also ineligible for the FA Cup, has revealed that he would like to extend his loan stay from Leicester City.
Gradel, whose initial deal expires on November 16, has impressed in four substitute appearances and scored his first goal for the club against Yeovil.
"At the moment, it's difficult at Leicester because I'm not playing a lot. Any player that isn't playing is never very happy, " he said. "As long as I'm going to play I think it would be a good idea (to stay).
"Right now I'm playing for 10, 15 and 30 minutes and hopefully, in two weeks' time, I'll be match fit and able to complete a game. I'm getting match fit now because I hadn't played for a long time."
Leeds's trip to Swindon Town on November 14 has been postponed due to international call-ups.
Angolan defender Rui Marques, Australian defender Patrick Kisnorbo, and Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper Alan Martin have already been selected to represent their countries, defender Lubomir Michalik is on standby for Slovakia, and both Robert Snodgrass and striker Vokes are hoping to be selected by Scotland and Wales, respectively.
Manager Simon Grayson said: "League regulations stipulate that a game can be called off if you have three players called up for international duty. As it stands, we have three called-up and one on standby but there are still some more squads to be announced and it may be that we lose other players or have players placed on standby. We wanted to make a decision at the earliest opportunity to inform people."
Doncaster Rovers midfielder Dean Shiels has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for this month's friendly international against Serbia at Windsor Park.
Shiels, who quit Scottish club Hibernian to join Rovers last season, has not played for his country since last November's 2-0 inetrnational defeat against Hungary.
Huddersfield Town striker Robbie Simpson has been ruled out for a month by a thigh injury.
