Time to finish the job
HALIFAX TOWN go into this afternoon's match at Stevenage Borough knowing that a draw will be enough to preserve their Conference status.
The Shaymen's midweek 4-0 win at Crawley Town coupled with Farsley Celtic's derby defeat at York means three of the four relegation places have now been settled.
That leaves fifth-bottom Halifax, Altrincham and Northwich battling to avoid filling the final relegation spot. If Altrincham fail to beat Weymouth then the Shaymen are safe but manager Chris Wilder is taking no chances and has called on his players to finish the job.
Off the field, the administrators running the club have published the report they hope will pave the way for Halifax to be taken over by local businessmen David Bosomworth and Bobby Ham.
Under the proposal, creditors – who are believed to be owed in excess of 2m – will be paid 2.5 pence in the pound. The offer from Bosomworth and Ham is the only one on the table.
Farsley round off their only season in the Conference at home to Grays Athletic, while York City travel to Salisbury City.
Teenager Josh Mimms will be in goal after Tom Evans was released along with Darren Craddock and Stuart Elliott.
