Yorkshire clubs discover Carling Cup opposition

ROTHERHAM United's home game against Championship side Derby County is one of the prize ties in the first round draw of the Carling Cup, which has been made this morning.

Bradford City also have a tough test away at Nottingham Forest.

Sheffield United play host to Micky Adams' Port Vale and neighbours Sheffield Wednesday entertain League Two side Rochdale.

Huddersfield Town entertain Stockport County and Leeds United travel to Darlington.

Simon Davey's Barnsley visit Peter Jackson's Lincoln City while Doncaster Rovers are away at Notts County.

Middlesbrough and Newcastle were both handed byes.

All ties, which are decided over one leg, take place in the week commencing August 10.
