STEVE EVANS says Kieran Agard’s value to Rotherham United is inestimable while confirming he will be contracted to the club for next season.
The Londoner has enjoyed an outstanding season and has notched 25 goals in all competitions, despite playing a number of games on the right side of midfield.
The Millers are expected to lean heavily on him during their forthcoming play-off campaign, with the 24-year-old also to be around at the club next season with United to invoke an option to ensure he remains at the New York Stadium.
Evans said: “Kieran has to be up there as one of the players of the year in League One.
“For a right-sided player to get so many goals, if it had happened at many other clubs they would have been touting him about. But we don’t want to sell.
“We cannot put a value on Kieran. As far as I am concerned, unless someone offers something totally outrageous for him, he won’t be going anywhere else.”
Meanwhile, Evans says that Lee Frecklington will be involved in his squad this afternoon after being kept in reserve over Easter, much to the midfielder’s frustration.
Frecklington has been nursed back into the fray after a foot injury, with Evans unwilling to take any chances with such an important player until he was clear in his own mind.
He added: “Lee is super-fit and in great condition and I just need to decide whether he starts the game against MK Dons or comes off the bench.
“Lee has been telling me for 10 days he is ready to play again.
“Lee was ready for Wolves, but I told him very early he wasn’t going to be featuring.
“I feel for him as he had worked so hard to be ready for Port Vale and I decided not even to put him on the bench.”
