ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott admits there will be changes at the club once the transfer window opens next month.
Scott is unhappy that his current squad of players has failed to make the expected impact in the League Two promotion race.
Chairman Tony Stewart has given Scott the go-ahead to shake things up but he may have to wheel and deal rather than rely on further investment in wages.
“We need to make changes and I’ve spoken to the chairman about what I want to do,” Scott confirmed. “There are players I have brought into this club who have not stepped up to the mark – I hold my hands up to that – but certainly there are others I’ve brought in who have set standards the others can’t reach.
“We need to make changes because we have conceded so many goals,” he added. “People have obviously not responded to what’s been asked of them but there’s no reason why we can’t challenge in the second half of the season.”
The Millers, who are four points adrift of the top seven, visit Hereford United this afternoon.
